Burley Family Gathers Here

Members of four generations were at a family re-union here recently on the occasion of the 69th [66th] wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Burley.
Although Mr. Burley was in the hospital when the family gathered, there were 46 of the couple's descendants and in-laws together at 644 Ian Avenue on April 7.
Their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Burley came from High Prairie, Alberta, and other members of the immediate family present
included Mr. and Mrs. Ray Burley, Burnaby; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Burley, Wellington; Ken Burley, Victoria; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Burley, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hamilton, and Mrs. Bernice Mannix, all of Port Alberni. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Atkinson, son-in-law and daughter, were unable to come from Saskatchewan. Members of the next generation on hand were Sandra, Peter and Loretta Burley, Dave, Jim and Rod Hiltz, Paul and Michael Hamilton, Mrs. Eva Burley, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Burley, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Burley, Mrs. Barbara Hiltz, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Atkinson. Great-grandchildren on the scene included Art and Sharon, Leslie and Scott Burley; Christie Hiltz, Maureen, Heather, Doug and Wendy Atkinson.
Mr. Burley's niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Alcock, were among the guests.
Also present were Miss Nancy Anderson, Miss Sheila Archer and Jim White, Port Alberni, and Mrs. R. Hannay, Victoria.
